Guardian Modules
Author: Down To Earth Astronomy
Guardian modules are hybrid modules created from a combination of human and guardian technology. They can be unlocked at a guardian tech broker, after which they will be available to buy just as any other module.
At the end of this guide you will find a list of all the modules and what you need to unlock them.

Which Modules Should you get?
Some guardian modules are more useful than others, therefore you might not want to unlock all of them. Here is a list of the most useful ones.
Guardian Frame Shift Drive Booster: This is by far the most useful module. It’s an optional internal module that will add a flat bonus to your jump range at the cost of a bit of power draw. Unlocking this will give you access to all the sizes of FSD booster from the class 1 adding 4 Ly to your jump range to the class 5 adding 10.4 ly
Guardian Shield Reinforcement Package: This is an optional internal module that will add a flat bonus to your shield hit points at the cost of a bit of power draw. You will often see this module used in many shield focused combat builds.
Guardian Gauss Cannon: If you are into Thargoid combat this is one of the most useful modules you can get. It forms the backbone of many anti-Thargoid combat builds.

How to find Guardian Materials
The various guardian materials can be located at the Ancient Data Terminal Sites which you can seen in the list to the right. Once you arrive at the site get out in the SRV and explore the location. You will most likely encounter several guardian sentinels flying around, they are hostile and will attack if they see you. Some guardian materials will drop if you kill the sentinels.
Scattered across the sites you will also find destructible panels located on the structures. Shooting the panels off with your SRV turret will drop more guardian materials. Once you have collected the material from the panels you can log out to the main menu and back in. This will respawn the panels.
On of the most popular places to collect guardian materials is Synuefe NL-N C23-4 Both because it spawns 4 guardian technology components but also because it has 3 guardian ruins close by where you can collect data very quickly. Here you see a map of the guardian structure in Synuefe GT-H B43-1. Each tower is marked with what components the spawn.
How to find Guardian Data
You can get the various Pattern Obelisk Data from guardian obelisks located both at the ancient data terminal sites but also at some guardian ruins. The obelisks are triangular structures as shown below, only some are active. Active obelisks will light up when you get close, they can then be targeted from your SRV and scanned. Once scanned you can log out to the main menu and back in. This allow you scan it again.
The fastest way to collect Pattern Obelisk Data is to find 2 active obelisks close to each other and scan both without moving before re-logging. There are multiple locations where this can be done, one is located on Synuefe NL-N C23-4 B 3 at 48.18, -48.37

To find guardian blueprint fragments you will have to head to one of the Ancient Data Terminal Sites. If you are looking for vessel blueprint fragments you will have to pick up one ancient key per blueprint fragment you need before you head out to the sites. The ancient keys can be found the at the guardian beacons, the known locations are listed in in the table to the right. Keep in mind that guardian beacons are not surface sites but are large structures in orbit around the listed planets.
In order to collect a key from the guardian beacons you will have to bring some kind of laser weapon either on your ship or on a fighter. Around the beacon you will find 3 pylons, with a glowing orb at the end of each pylon. Shoot the orbs and charge up all 3 pylons. This will activate the beacon and a larger sphere will be deployed. Scan the sphere with your ships data link scanner and the beacon will eject an ancient key from the base of the structure. Pick it up either with your cargo scoop or a collector limpet.
Once you arrive at your desired Ancient Data Terminal Sites, get out in your SRV and begin to explore the location. You will most likely encounter several guardian sentinels flying around, they are hostile and will attack if they see you.
Each site has a different layout so it is advised you find a map online or spent some time to familiarise yourself with the layout of the site. You will have to locate the main data terminal as well as the 6 power pylons located on the site. Note that 2 power pylons will be located next to the data terminal. The power pylons with come out of the ground when you drive close to them, and will have a glowing orb inside them that can be shot with the SRV turret. This will charge up the pylons and start a countdown. You will have to charge up all 6 power pylons before the timer ends. Should the time run out you will have to start over, therefore it is a good idea to locate all of them before you start charging them up.
Once all 6 power pylons have been charged up return to the data terminal. You will now see a triangular hole lighting up in the ground in front of the data terminal. Depending on what site you are at you will have to drop a specific object into the hole. In the table above with the ancient data terminal sites you can see which type of object each site accepts. We have already covered how to get ancient keys, but if the site accepts it, it is often easier to use an ancient relic. The ancient relics can be found at the top of slim towers that will be coming out of the ground in various location across the sites when you drive close. Shoot the glowing top of the towers and a ancient relic will fall off.
With the correct object in your SRV cargo drive to the data terminal and park right over the triangular hole. Eject the object and an orb will fly out of the data terminal. Scan it and you will get a blueprint fragment associated with the site you are at.
